Technology has made it very easy for language learners to easily and instantly grasp the communicative basics of a new language within a couple of months. As an English teacher I still remember
my first students 9 years ago and how they used to struggle with learning English grammar and vocabulary making do of the few interactive resources available to them. If you compare
them to today's students you will notice a huge difference particularly in the learning methods.
Now Internet provides all kinds of media ( video, presentations, tutorials,
articles, dictionaris, lessons, tutors and many more ) that a student can access with a single click. Not only that, mobile technology has even produced a new kind of learning called mobile
learning , learners lear on the go wherever they are and whenever they want.
Given the importance of mobile learning in education, we , as teachers and educators, should always make sure our students are equipped with the right apps to use on their mobile devices. In this
regard, I have compiled a list of free Android apps for English language learners. Check out the list and share it with you students.
This is an awesome Android app that helps language learners improve their foreign language learning using a set of predefined templates of how words should
be pronounced and understood.
Busuu is a leading community of language learners online. I often log on there and help students with their English grammar and I love the interaction and cooperation of the
members of this community. It provides extensive vocabulary practice and comprehensive audio visual learning material with photos and recordings by native speakers.
This one here helps learners learn new words through the use of a method called word cards. They use pictures to illustrate meaning.
This is an ideal app for beginners. It provides pictures to define words.
This is an Android app that helps learners learn English speaking and listening via podcasts.This application has a feature to change playback speed slower or faster.

download on their Android devices.
This app as its name suggests helps learners improve their use and conjugation of verbs. It is optimized for Tablet.
This is basically an irregular verb dictionary for English learners that contains over 489 irregular verbs.
This is a complete and useful phrasal verb dictionary that has over 400 verbs. It also lets users search any phrasal verb by word or meaning. Every phrasal verb is illustrated by examples
